We’ve clobbered the 700 million mark, but we’re chasing faster teams now, so not climbing the team ranking as rapidly any more.

Y'all are doing some real good! (Also, my LS6 was rated at 405 hp from factory)

I’ve kicked off my stuff again. We’ll have to see if I can manage to steal 8th place back from Gran Fury...

AC went on today. GPU dropped 15 deg. C.

Well, I discovered that I can game whilst folding with very little effect on performance; I used to stop folding when gaming, but forgot one day and discovered that things ran fine. I will not make it easy for you to retake 8th...

Here are a few 405s to celebrate, one you want and one you don’t :

My wife’s sister lives in San Diego and we drive down from the Bay Area once or twice a year to visit and boy, to I loathe having to drive through LA, day or night.

Have you measured the power consumption of your computer? I’m running a 1060 GPU and folding 400-500,000 PPD and using around 220 watts going to the tower.

Pretty much the same here.

I have. A 1070 runs about 150-170 watts. A 2060super about 210watts. Both ryzen platforms run 12 0 additional idle watts. So I’m using about 650 watts to generate near 2m ppd between the two computers. I have a 1050 ti in a retired garage computer. That’s not active yet, but when on, the old amd 965 chip alone will burn 250 watts at 100%. It’s so inefficient. I’m planning to declo ck it to 2ghz which would open up enough free PSU power to fold an additional card in it's extra slot.

In that garage PC, couldn't you remove the CPU folding slot in the app and save some electrons? That's what I did on mine.

I’m totally not trying to catch you, but i am coming up on 10M, so keep climbing! er, flopping, oh yes, folding!

Overtake Rusty = More Folding = Good Thing

I dont fold on CPUs.
If one were to use the cpu power it has while folding on a 1070, it would need a bit over 500 watts from the psu to run the whole show. it has a 650w in it now. so to use two 1070's in there would mean a cpu declock to safely fold. H alf of the ram slots are broken anyway so its an 8gb only machine with a cpu bottleneck for any decent gaming today. Hence its retirement to low duty stuff. it will be declocked and when a folding card is freed up or found cheap on craigslist ill fire it up again at half its cpu speed and fold on.

That sounds ideal. I’d set up something like that in my garage and use it for browsing and Spotify when I’m out there, and just let it fold, otherwise. But I have a Precision tower with a 650 watt PSU and the necessary power connectors and the 1060 GPU wound up not costing me anything, so I can’t see spending any money. So I’ll just keep my eyes open for something that might make a good headless folding machine.
